Let me introduce myself, I’m Kate.

I have been in the Health & Beauty Industry for over 20 years. In 2012, I took a huge leap of faith to pursue one of my longtime dreams. I left the Medical/Dental field, enrolled in night school and found an entry level full time position at a local spa. Starting over was both terrifying and exhilarating! I spent my days at the spa behind the front desk, shadowing the estheticians and taking full advantage of being mentored. I absorbed absolutely everything I could before heading off to class every evening for another five hours of education. Over the next eighteen months, I thrived in my surroundings truly captivated by all I was learning. The majority of my free time was spent observing, researching and studying like a madwoman- I was in heaven! The insane schedule and hard work paid off when I graduated from Lu Ross Academy with a perfect attendance record and outstanding test scores. After passing my state board exam as a fully licensed cosmetologist to practice hair, skin and nails, I dove head first into multiple continuing education courses and began further exploring alternative body wellness therapies. I haven’t made it to massage school yet but it’s still on the bucket list. A few years into my career, I took a second leap of faith and went out on my own completely solo (also terrifying and exhilarating).

I have had the opportunity to learn from and work with some incredibly talented and knowledgeable individuals. I am crossed trained all across the cosmetology board and hold several specialized certifications. My philosophy remains rooted in holistic health and beauty practices with a twist of incorporating modern modalities. It’s a beautiful balance between old and new.

Over the years, I have been in a few different spaces but the environments were never quite the right fit. My desire to offer clients a certain level of solitude could not be achieved surrounded by the inevitable chatter of a downtown salon. I practice out of a small private studio away from the hustle & bustle that has allowed me more creative freedom and to bring uniqueness to my craft. I enjoy hand making bath & body products and creating simple jewelry pieces that can be found on display in my studio.

To my two oldest daughters who patiently sacrificed a lot of their mom in her pursuit of happiness (I love you both to the moon and back)!

And to my incredible husband who supports all my wild ideas and ventures so I can continue to do what lights my soul on fire (I still love you more)!
